The St. Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theater of Boris Eifman began a tour in China, and the residents of Shenzhen were the first to see the productions of the famous Russian company. The tour will continue in five major cities of the country, the telegram channel of the Russian Embassy in China reports.

The Russian theater brought to the country ballet productions based on the works of Russian classical literature - ''Anna Karenina'' and ''Eugene Onegin''. It is noted that the choreographic performance based on the novel by Leo Tolstoy is already familiar to Chinese admirers of Russian ballet and has received high praise from them. The St. Petersburg theater is presenting ''Eugene Onegin'' in China for the first time.

Earlier, ''Anna Karenina'' was shown in Shenzhen, the performance received an enthusiastic ovation. The Boris Eyman Theater will also visit Shanghai, Beijing, Nanjing, Xi'an and Suzhou.
