Russian universities are widely represented in the Shanghai subject rankings in several sections, including physics, chemistry, mathematics, geosciences and others. According to the study, the best among Russian universities in physics were MIPT and Lomonosov Moscow State University, which entered the world top 150, TASS reports.
Among 200 leading universities on the planet in the field of physics are MEPhI and Novosibirsk State University, as well as universities from St. Petersburg and Tomsk. In areas such as chemistry, mathematics and geosciences, the highest positions among Russian universities were taken by Moscow State University, the Higher School of Economics and Tomsk State University.
It is noted that five Russian universities made it into the top 100 in a number of areas, including the Higher School of Economics, RUDN University and others. And the most mentioned university in Russia in various positions was the Higher School of Economics. In total, 1,900 educational institutions are among the world's leading universities.
