The 1st electronic reading room of the Russian Presidential Library has been opened in India, allowing remote access to more than a million documents and an extensive collection of materials on Russian history, the Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

Residents of Mumbai will be the first Indians to gain access to the electronic collection of the Presidential Library; the opportunity to enter the national electronic repository of Russia has been opened at the Russian House in this city. The head of the institution, Elena Remizova, noted that not only Indians, but also Russian compatriots living in Mumbai will be able to study unique documents and materials about Russian history.

An archive of documents about India, as well as the history of relations between the two states is available in the library.
