Russian language teaching centers function in 51 countries

Next year, Russia intends to expand the teaching of the Russian language and the teaching of other subjects in Russian, Deputy Minister of Education of Russia Denis Gribov stated during the presentation of the BRICS Peoples Choose Life international and interregional program, the ministry’s website reports.

The presentation took place at RUDN University, and was attended by delegations from the BRICS countries, as well as students and teachers.

Denis Gribov spoke about the important work of the department in establishing centers for open education in Russian and teaching the Russian language abroad. According to him, 62 such centers are currently operating in 51 countries.

In the past year, they were opened in three BRICS countries: South Africa, India, and China. It was noted that the centers contribute to the acquaintance of foreigners with Russia and its culture.

Denis Gribov spoke highly of the pace of development of the Russian Teacher Abroad project - in comparison with the last academic year, the number of countries participating in the project has almost doubled this year. According to him, soon participants in the Russian project will work in all BRICS countries.
