RussoMobile on German Roads

24.02.2010

This February is marking the start of new project in Germany aimed at promotion of the Russian language among the local population. As part of the initiative a special bus named RussoMobile is now running across Berlin and Brandenburg with the aim to boost a percentage of students learning the Russian language (at present this figure is below 1%).

RussoMobile carries a group of Russian language specialists, who visit schools, and attend various festivals of foreign languages in order to tell about Russia, its traditions, culture and history. They also conduct mini-lessons, show Russian films and play Russian music.

The official start of the project is scheduled for April 2010, but schools have already demonstrated a strong interest to this initiative (over fifteen schools have invited the RussoMobile team to their premises).

Italian entrepreneur Marco Maggi's book, "Russian to the Bone," is now accessible for purchase in Italy and is scheduled for release in Russia in the upcoming months. In the book, Marco recounts his personal odyssey, narrating each stage of his life as a foreigner in Russia—starting from the initial fascination to the process of cultural assimilation, venturing into business, fostering authentic friendships, and ultimately, reaching a deep sense of identifying as a Russian at his very core.
