XI–XX Centuries: History of the Russian Culture

25.03.2010

A yearlong program focused on the history of the Russian culture kicked off in February 2010 at the Russian Center in Bratislava. The lectures, which take place twice a month, are devoted to the period between the 11th and the early 20th centuries. All events are attended by experts in relevant areas, i.e. literature, theatre, music, art.

In February and March the center hosted the lectures devoted to ancient Russian manuscripts and books; 10th – 11th century architecture, art and literature; ancient Russian cities – Kiev, Vladimir, Novgorod, Suzdal; icon painting, bells and the art of bell-ringing.

The organizers hope that such events will be useful for teachers and tutors, university and school students specializing in the Russian language, and to all aficionados of the Russian culture.
