Professional advancement courses were held at Shandong University (Weihai, Shandong, China.) for Chinese teachers of the Russian language. Ten Chinese teachers took part in the courses.
The course “Remote Study of Russian Language and the Culture of Russia: Theory and Practice” was held as a part of an agreement between the Russkiy Mir Foundation and Blagoveshchensk State Pedagogical University.
Master classes on teaching methodology of the course “Culture of Russia” and on working with internet resources were held by project director Nikolai Kukharenko, Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, Director of the Confucius Institute at BSPU and head of the International Education Division of BSPU. Professor Wan Jingling of Shandong University also shared his experience teaching the Russian language as a foreign language.
Moreover, the professional advancement courses also provided the participants with the opportunity to become acquainted with interactive methods for teaching Russian language and culture.
In autumn of 2014 as a part of this project remote learning courses on Russian language and culture will be held at five Russian language centers created by BSPU with the support of the Russkiy Mir Foundation. On the Chinese side the work will be supervised by Chinese specialists on the teaching of the Russian language who have completed the professional advancement courses. In late October 2015 the best Chinese students who have completed the courses at the five language center will take part in a roundtable on “Contemporary Challenges of Russian Culture” in Harbin.
