The All-Ukrainian Youth Forum "Guard of Memory. We Remember. We Revere" was dedicated this year to the 70th anniversary of the Allied Victory in the Second World War. The forum was organised by the Russian ex-patriate association "Peaceful Initiatives for Development", by the Russkiy Mir Foundation and by Rossotrudnichestvo.

The event counted around 100 youthful faces in its ranks, including archaeologists, historical society activists and representatives from various local NGOs and charities. The key theme of the forum concerned problems of correct and patriotic upbringing, the importance of carefully preserving the common histories of Russian and Ukraine and the necessity of keeping watch against attempts to discredit and falsify the past.

Particular veneration was paid to honorary key-note speaker Vladimir L'vovich Miller, Second World War veteran and participant in the Battle of Kursk.

Rossotrudnichestvo representative in Ukraine Aleksandr Prokopenko gave a detailed account of the activities carried out in this 70th anniversary year, and also presented participants of the forum with the book Companion to the Victory.

Participants of the forum visited the memorial complex "The Heights of Marshal Konev" and laid flowers on the graves of Soviet soldiers at the Glory Memorial in Kharkov.
