31.03.2017

RF President Administration A majority of American population is not interested in cutting off the relations between Moscow and Washington, Vladimir Putin considers. He made such a statement during his presentation at the International Arctic Forum, according to the Kremlin official website.

According to the head of state, the intention to break off diplomatic relations and let the situation degrade to the Cuban missile crisis would not do any good to anybody. Such a state of affairs is a big mistake and complete absence of responsibility. He has expressed hope that the situation might change for the better.

Putin called thoughts that Russian Ambassador to the Unites States is the main spy absurd. He reminded that American Ambassador holds meetings with everybody he wants to. At the same time, any meeting appointed by the Russian Ambassador meets hostility as an espionage activity, though this is a generally accepted practice among diplomats everywhere in the world.

Russian leader repeated that Moscow did not have any influence on the results of the US presidential elections. Vladimir Putin has pointed out that anti-Russian propaganda is used by certain US political powers in order to strengthen positions of some American politicians. At this, contrary to all claims, there are some improvements of collaboration between the two countries especially regarding the Syrian conflict settlement.

Talking about future perspectives, Putin said that, apart from other spheres, Russia and USA would be able to collaborate in the field of hydrocarbon production in the Arctic Region.
