RF Ministry of Culture
Children’s Music Academy for young talented musicians from CIS and the Baltic countries was opened in Samara. Celebrated Russian violist and conductor Yuri Bashmet is managing it, TV channel Culture advises. This session of the academy is already seventh. More than one hundred musicians from Russia and abroad sent applications for participation in it. Students of the academy performed at the stage of Samara State Philharmonic Hall. They performed together with a local symphony orchestra.

All young talents were divided into six specializations of studies: piano, violin, cello, clarinet, flute and classic guitar. The lessons will be conducted by the invited teachers including some famous musicians from abroad. Citizens will have a chance to evaluate the results of their work, as students with teachers are going to give mutual concerts.

As Yuri Bashmet mentioned earlier, one of the key tasks of the project is to revive traditions of the Soviet and Russian school of playing musical instruments. The overall mission of the project is perceived by him as regeneration and development of cultural ties between Russia, CIS and the Baltic countries.
