Ded Moroz Workshop opened for children in Romania

Children of Russian compatriots living in Romania participated in the Ded Moroz Workshop. The classes were organized by the Our World association, the member of the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots' Organizations of Romania. Children learned how to make Christmas tree toys and were introduced to Russian folk crafts, the website of the Moscow House of Compatriots reports. 

The workshop was organized in the Russian Club with the support of the Russian Embassy in Romania. The toys, crafted by teachers, children and adults, reflected traditional Russian folk patterns of Khokhloma and Gzhel. 

New Year matinees, performances and other events in Russian style are held in different countries of the world. Many of them aim on teaching children handicrafts and familiarizing them with Russian traditions. 

Russian Teacher Abroad participant launched a Grandfather Frost Workshop project in Vietnamese school. During the classes, children studied Russian New Year traditions and created Christmas decorations with their own hands.
