New Year's performances for Russian-speaking children are held in German cities. Children watch fairy tales, talk to Father Frost and Snow Maiden, and receive gifts. In Freital, a Russian-style Christmas tree party brought together over 100 children of Russian compatriots and young spectators from German families, the Russian Field website reports.

The organizers of the festive matinee, which took place at the Freital House of Culture, were the local Commonwealth society and the Hummingbird child-parent center from Dresden. The organizers thanked the Russian Embassy in Germany and the Coordination Council of Russian Compatriots for their support.

It was noted that the holiday was held with the aim of introducing local residents to the ''old Russian traditions'' of celebrating the New Year and intensifying intercultural dialogue.

In Lörrach, Germany, the ''Show of New Year's Wishes'' performance took place with the participation of Father Frost and the Snow Maiden. Young spectators joined the play.

The Seele musical thather, which trains children and adults, has prepared a concert program for the holidays that introduces viewers to the songs and dances of different peoples of the world.
