Narva Museum and Historical Reconstruction Club from Saint Petersburg Teutonic Order organize in Narva the 3d Middle Ages’ Festival next weekend, June 30-July 1. The epoch of reconstruction is 1346, the date of signing agreement on sale of Narva Castle between the German Order and King of Denmark. The visitors are to see equestrian and foot battles, sword plays, archery competitions, theatrical stagings and minstrel melodies, IA Sputnik informs.

The guests will be allowed to live in Narva Castle for 2 days. There will be a tent city near the castle to demonstrate the routine life of warriors of the 14th century. People will be able to try on a costume of a knight, an archer or a craftsman. Children will practice their precision skills and defeat their rivals with toy swords.

The festival opening ceremony is to begin with gala march along the Narva streets. Spectators will watch fighting knights and in 1,5 hours the initiative will pass on to the horse regiments. At 4.30 p.m. the giants on stilts will walk on the territory of the Castle and in half an hour, visitors will dance listening to the tunes from the Middle Ages. The evening fire show will end up the first day.

Estonian Ensemble Hortus Musicus is to perform during the second day. Its repertoire is ancient melodies of the early Baroque epoch, madrigals and suites of 14th – 15th centuries.
