10.09.2018

The Russkiy Mir Foundation and the Sustainable Development of Bulgaria Foundation backed with Bulgaria's Ministry of Education and Science  hold the 7th International Festival of Students Learning Russian called Friends, our Union is Beautiful! The occasion is organized on September 10-16, 2018.

Traditionally Kamchia resort and health center located near Varna will host the event. The opening ceremony will take place on the morning of September 11 in the Black Sea cinema-concert hall.

This year teams from 18 countries participate the youth forum. The number of the countries taking part in the festival constantly grows. Beginning Russian language specialists from Great Britain, Vietnam, Kazakhstan and Finland will come this year for the first time.

The program of the festival includes various events: trainings and master classes from experienced teachers and philologists, creative workshops, quizzes, competitions and certainly cultural exchange with the participating countries. The organizers try to enrich the educational program as much as possible and also focus on popularization of sports and healthy lifestyle. Students can take part in sports flashmobs and team games. The vast cultural program will be introduced to the festival participants.

The line "Friends, our Union is Beautiful!" written by Pushkin in 1825 became the slogan of the first European student festival held in 2009 in Krakow on the initiative of Helena Ples, the head of the Russian Language Center at the Krakow Pedagogical University. Student teams from more than twenty countries participate in the youth festival: Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Georgia, Italy, Spain, China, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Russia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, etc. The future specialists speaking Russian got the opportunity to gain new knowledge of RFL (Russian as a foreign language) and also to find friends and like-minded people from other countries. In 2014, the festival was held in the Serbian capital, since 2015 the festival is hosted by Bulgaria.
