Sochi to welcome international wheelchair half marathon

Paralympians from eight countries will come on October 9 at the 4th Rezept-sport International Half Marathon held on the race track of the Sochi Olympic Park. Wheelchair races are held in Sochi since 2015, TASS reports.

The athletes from Russia, France, Venezuela, the CIS and the Donetsk People's Republic will take part in the event. The Sochi Half Marathon is traditionally conducted by the All-Russian Society of Disabled People and other societies uniting people with disabilities. According to the organizers, the main goals of the competition are to popularize sports among people with disabilities and to intensify interaction between the societies of disabled people.

Sochi half marathon is very popular among athletes. The track built for Formula 1 gives a special motivation and memorable emotions.
