Days of Russian culture have started in Romania with the performance of the famous Russian musician Eduard Kunz, TASS reports. He played The Seasons for solo piano by Tchaikovsky.

The eighth festival is timed to coincide with the 140th anniversary of the diplomatic relations establishment between the two countries. A photo exhibition dedicated to the work of Russian and Soviet diplomats in Romania opened in Bucharest.

According to Russian ambassador to Romania Valery Kuzmin, there were historical periods when the relations were broken. Nevertheless, they were always restored. The ambassador is convinced that cultural figures may be the best diplomats in bilateral relations.

The new Russian films will also be brought to Romania. The Bolshoi by Todorovsky, The Age of Pioneers by Kiselev, Sobibor by Khabensky, Matilda by Uchitel and so on will be shown in Bucharest as well as in Cluj-Napoca and Baia Mare.

Another art exhibition entitled Northern Russia Patterns will start at the Russian Center for Science and Culture on November 7. Graphic works by Alevtina Struchkova and Pavlovsky Posad shawls will be on display.
