The International Competition of Schoolchildren in Physics has started in Tel Aviv, RIA Novosti reports. This year, the intellectual tournament marks a half-century anniversary. More than three hundred and fifty high school students came to Israel, representing almost eighty countries from around the world.

The Russian team brings together Moscow and Vologda schoolchildren, who won first place at the national competition. All of them have already graduated from school, and for them the tournament was the last in school life. According to their attendants, all the leading world universities are eager to accept the participants of the team, the offers were received even during the tournament. But nobody has changed their mind - in September they are awaited by the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.

The representatives of the team explained that, traditionally, the Russians were among the leaders in the number of awards won. They are closely followed by the Chinese.

The champion of the 20th Asian Physics Competitions in Adelaide and gold medal winner in Lisbon Grigory Bobkov is one of the most particular participants. Grigory has received the first gold two years ago at the European Championship in Estonia. By rating he is now second in Physics competition among kids in the world.

The honor of Russia in Tel Aviv is also defended by Alexey Shishkin, who is simultaneously participating in the chemistry competition, Andrei Panfyorov, Vladimir Malinovsky and Elisey Sudakov.

The tournament includes theoretical tasks and laboratory work, experiments and even quests.

The winners will be announced on July 14th.
