Moscow was among the 60 safest cities in the world for the current year, according to the Economist. The Russian capital took 37th place in the list, which was compiled on the basis of 57 indicators. At the same time, Moscow was among the thirty best cities in terms of safety in the field of education, RIA Novosti reports.

The drafters of the rating evaluated the situation in the cities in four directions. In addition to safety in the medical field, infrastructure safety indicators, as well as personal and digital security, were taken into account. Moscow was in the top 40 in three areas. The Russian capital was placed in the lowest position in the digital security rating (54th place).

The safest cities in the world, according to the calculation methodology used, were Tokyo, Singapore and Osaka. The top ten also included the capitals of the USA, Denmark, the Netherlands and other cities. At the bottom of the rating list are the capitals of Myanmar, Venezuela and Nigeria.

Russkiy Mir reported that in July 2019, Moscow was in its 40th place on the list of the best cities in the world for students. The drafters of the rating took into account the quality of life in the city, the cost of goods and services, as well as employment opportunities for students and graduates.
