The Russian capital took first place in the international City Human Potential Ranking, TASS reports. The study, which united 100 BRICS+ megacities, was devoted to human potential. According to Deputy Mayor of Moscow Natalya Sergunina, the compilers of the rating took into account almost 200 indicators.

Moscow got ahead of Hong Kong, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur and Abu Dhabi, Natalya Sergunina clarified. Experts highly appreciated the Russian capital in terms of its scientific and technological potential, educational system, stability of the labor market and other criteria.

The experts relied on two complementary approaches. The first, ''city for people,'' examines the opportunities that authorities create for citizens. At the center of the second – ''people for city'' – lies the potential and self-realization of the population.

Moscow's victory was ensured by several conditions at once: the development of science and innovation, increasing their share in the capital’s economy and comprehensive measures of state support. A powerful multi-level education system prepares personnel for promising industries. Another important factor is digitalization.
