Photo exhibition about Cossacks to open in Spain

The photo exhibition called “To the Great Victory. The Cossacks in the Great Patriotic War of 1941 – 1945” is prepared in Spain, its opening is scheduled for June 27. The organizers of the historical exposition are the Association of the Union of Cossacks of Spain with the support of the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History and the Synodal Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church for Cooperation with the Cossacks, the website of the Union of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in Spain and Andorra reports.

The exhibition is based on materials from the leading archives of Russia, it will feature photographs, documents and letters from the Great Patriotic War time, telling about the deeds of the Cossacks on the battlefields.

The exhibition will make it possible to trace the formation of cavalry divisions in the Rostov Region, Krasnodar and Stavropol Territories, as well as other Cossack regions of the country. In addition, documents (summaries, information and reports) and photographs will tell about the combat path of the units and the participation of Cossacks in partisan units, and their work in the rear.
