Representatives of the Cossack communities of Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, Finland and Poland became participants in the international Cossack bivouac (camp), which was first organized near Hanover. Russian Cossacks were unable to join their compatriots due to closed borders, the website of the Moscow Compatriot House reports.

The participants in the bivouac were Russian compatriots living in Germany and diplomats from the Russian Consulate General in Hamburg. Consul-adviser of the department emphasized that the opening of the camp speaks of the desire of the Cossack communities abroad to get closer.

The event opened with a thanksgiving prayer, which was conducted by the confessor of the Cossack community of Hannover Aleksey Tereshchenko and Priest Viktor Yakim from Cologne. After the formation of the Cossacks and the presentation of awards, a two-day work of the camp began, during which sports competitions and creative events were held.
