An exhibition dedicated to the history of teaching Chinese students at universities in the Soviet Union, as well as in Russia and other former Soviet republics, has opened in Beijing, Xinhua news agency reports.

The opening of the exhibition is timed to coincide with two anniversaries at once - the centenary of the Chinese Communist Party and the 70th anniversary of the first time when Chinese students were sent to the USSR. In 1951, the Chinese Ministry of Education sent a group of 375 people to the Soviet Union.

The head of the Chinese Association of Soviet and Russian Universities, Liu Limin, said that the exhibition is intended to remember the history of the training of Chinese students in the USSR in different historical periods.
