About 9% of foreign students who received diplomas from domestic universities stay to work in Russia, TASS reports. According to the deputy head of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation Konstantin Mogilevsky, Russian universities have opened 44 branches abroad. 32 of them are practically engaged in educational activities, in 22 of them the number of students exceeds two hundred people.
The Deputy head explained that opening a branch is a complex process, requiring the maintenance of high educational standards equivalent to the principal university.
Konstantin Mogilevsky highlighted the plan to establish a new format for Russian universities abroad. This format would bring together the most sought-after and robust educational programs from various universities, tailored to the specific needs of each country. The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation is already engaged in negotiations to bring this concept to fruition.
The envisioned format is expected to be more effective and logistically simpler for universities compared to establishing branches.
