Schoolchildren from Russia and India have taken part in an online meeting dedicated to the culture of both countries, the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Mumbai writes on Facebook.

Russia was represented by children from St. Petersburg, who study at a school named after the well-known Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore. Students from the Mumbai school Volsingham House represented India.

Young Russians presented the costumes and songs of the Cossacks of the Krasnodar Territory, talked about their customs and cuisine. For their part, students from Mumbai represented their home state of Maharashtra. They spoke about the folk traditions coming from ancient times, recited poetry, sang songs and danced the Lavani national dance.

Schools agreed to continue meeting online every month.
