A Russian plane is helping to fight wildfires in Algeria, TASS reports. The Be-200 amphibious plane sent by the Russian Emergency Ministry is participating in rescue operations in the disaster zone. In the past 24 hours alone, the plane conducted several flights to the places of fires.

The plane has been in Algeria for more than a month, it arrived in the country in mid-June. It was chartered by the Algerian authorities for a three-month period.

Last summer, Russian pilots helped fight forest fires in Turkey. The fire engulfed the forests due to the intense heat at the end of June. Russia sent Be-200 and Il-76 planes, as well as Mi-8 helicopters, to the affected regions.
