President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has deprived the well-known figure skater, Olympic champion Viktor Petrenko of his scholarship. The reason was his participation in a Russian ice show held in Sochi in July, R-Sport reports.

The punishment of the figure skater, who brought Olympic gold to Ukraine 30 years ago, was announced by Zelensky's office. It is noted that the president deprived the athlete of scholarships by personal decree for participating in the "The Scarlet Flower" production on the Sochi ice.

Prior to this, the Ukrainian Figure Skating Federation (UFSK) excluded the figure skater from the organization. In addition, Viktor Petrenko, who served as vice president of the UFSK, left work with young athletes in Ukraine.
