The Supreme Court of the Netherlands upheld the decision of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal to transfer the Scythian gold collection to Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports. The court session took place on Friday, June, 9.

At the beginning of last year, Crimean museums filed a cassation appeal with the Supreme Court of the Netherlands. They appealed the verdict of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal in the case of the transfer of Scythian gold to Ukraine.

The artifacts left the Crimean museums for an exhibition at the Allard Pearson Museum in Amsterdam. The state guaranteed the return of the exhibits. After Crimea returned to the Russian Federation in March 2014, the question of where to return the exhibits was decided in court.

In the autumn of 2021, the Amsterdam court ruled to transfer the collection to Ukraine. Moscow, in its turn, believes that Scythian gold is part of the historical and cultural heritage of Crimea, the property of all Crimeans.
