The Dutch authorities handed over to Ukraine a collection of Scythian gold from Crimean museums, RIA Novosti reports. The Allard Pearson Museum in Amsterdam stated that the collection was delivered to Ukrainian territory the day before, on November, 26.

A truck carrying 2,5 tons of exhibits entered the territory of the Kiev Pechersk Lavra. Museum specialists will be involved in identification there.

Scythian gold belongs to Crimea and should be stored on the peninsula, said press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

The head of Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, believes that Scythian gold in Ukraine might simply disappear, and the exhibits would end up in private collections. In his opinion, it is possible to return Scythian gold to its rightful place, in Crimea, only by achieving the goals of the special military operation.

The artifacts were sent from Crimean museums to an exhibition at the Allard Pearson Museum in Amsterdam. The state guaranteed the return of the exhibits. After Crimea returned to the Russian Federation in March 2014, the issue of where to return the exhibits was decided in court.

In the fall of 2021, the Amsterdam court decided to transfer the collection to Ukraine. Russia did not agree with the verdict, noting that Scythian gold is part of the historical and cultural heritage of Crimea, the property of all Crimeans.
