Russian scientist delivered lectures on computational linguistics research in Guangzhou

Guangdong University of Foreign Languages and International Trade (GUILIT) hosted a lecture series titled Prospects for Research in Computational Linguistics in Russia, on December 6-9. The lectures were delivered by professor M. Mukhin, Head of the Department of Fundamental and Applied Linguistics and Textual Studies at Boris Yeltsin Ural Federal University. The audience included D. Sharafutdinov, the Russian expert of GUIA&MT, as well as teachers, doctoral, and master's students from the Department of Russian Studies.

On December 7, Professor Mukhin met with professors and doctoral students at the Russian Center, sharing insights into his department's research directions and the achievements of UrFU linguists in lexicographic projects. He also donated publications to the Department of Russian Studies at GUIA&MT.

On December 8, Professor Mukhin delivered two additional lectures, delving into the fundamental principles of computational linguistics and methods of automatic text processing. He also shared specific achievements in the comparative analysis of styles in 19th-century Russian literature using the National Corpus of the Russian Language.
