Children's group from Yakutia win Grand Prix of Harbin festival

The children's dance group "Diamonds of Yakutia" won the Grand Prix of the International Winter's Tale Festival in Harbin. Young performers from a number of regions of Russia and China took to the festival stage, the website of the Yakut House of Friendship of Peoples reports.

The competition, dedicated to national cultures and friendship of peoples, brought together 130 young performers from Primorye, Khabarovsk Territory and Yakutia, as well as about 200 Chinese participants. 

Festival performances took place at several venues in Harbin, including the famous Ice and Snow Park in the center of the Chinese city. The main concert took place on January, 13, at the Workers' Palace of Culture. The holiday program included visits to the city’s choreographic schools.

The ''Diamonds of Yakutia'' group, which won the Folk Dance competition category, presented the cultural traditions of their region. 18 dancers, most of them elementary school students, came to Harbin.
