EU to allocate 3 millon euros for informational war against Russia for three years

27.11.2017

fapmc.ruEuropean Union has taken a decision to allocate around 1,1 million euros for informational counteraction to Russia, TASS reports. These financial means will be directed at financing operational work group on strategic communications which, in particular, will deal with counteraction to information falsification in mass media about European Union politics.

It is noteworthy that money for the above mentioned purpose has already been budgeted by European Union for 2018 - 2020. According to EU leaders, Russian-speaking media environment continues biased presentation of different events connected to European continent, cyber attacks on various online resources have been intensified and naked disinformation war is being waged. Donald Tusk reported about these problems the day before.

In November 2016, European Parliament issued a resolution titled Strategic communications of European Union as counteraction to propaganda of third parties, where among threats are Russian mass media, in particular. The document states about RT TV channel and Sputnik news agency as well as the Russkiy Mir Foundation and Rossotrudnichestvo.

Russia's EU envoy has noted that some structures in Brussels are busy with creating ideologic special opeartion forces to struggle against alleged Russian propaganda instead of resolving real currect issues related to migration and economic state of some countries included into European Union.
