Russian – French Year of Tourism summoned up in Paris

bfro.beRussian – French forum dedicated to cultural tourism has recently started in Paris. Senior officials from both ministries of culture, diplomats, figures of culture and tourism are among participants of the forum, TASS informs.

According to presenters, the passing year has demonstrated progress of Russian-French relations in various fields.

As per Russian Ambassador to France Alexey Meshkov, the main event of the year for both countries is a meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron. Ambassador has reminded that the heads of states proposed to organize bilateral forum of The Trianon Dialogue society and expressed assuredness that this initiative is a good opportunity to draw the two nations closer.

Presidents were present at the opening of exhibition about history of Russian – French relations in Versailles. The exposition was devoted to the anniversary of the historic visit of Peter the Great to France. The exhibition has been extremely popular for these three months.

Exposition of Modern Art Icons found major public response too. The icons were presented by Russian museums from the collection of Russian sponsor Sergey Shchukin. It became the most popular post-war exhibition, the diplomat commented.

Spokesperson of French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Lauran Bili has satisfactorily noted that a number of tourists from Russia coming to France is constantly growing. He has added that partnership will be developed on regional level as well.
