Flame of Russian Soul film festival opens in Paris

Classics of Soviet cinema, contemporary Russian films, shorts and animations to be screened in frames of the Flame of Russian Soul 5th Russian film festival in Paris. The event opens today and will last for one week. Russian and Soviet classics retrospectives to be screened in four Paris cinema theaters, L'Observateur Russe reports. 

Russian and Parisian audience, including public figures will see features of Eldar Ryazanov, Sergey Bondarchuk, Kira Mouratova; Well, Just You Wait! Animation series, etc. In various years the festival was attended by Isabelle Huppert, Bertrand Tavernier, Claude Lelouch. This year the festival will bring together French and Russian film stars.

Festival opens with popular Van Goghs film that was released this year. Participant of Festival de Cannes, Summer released in 2018 to participate in the festival as well. Soviet films such as The Cranes Are Flying (1967), Andrei Rublev (1969), The Communist (1958) to be presented. Q&As with legendary Russian actors Svetlana Nemolyaeva and Oleg Basilashvili will take place in frames of the festival as well.
