Two candidates lead after counting 60% of the ballots in Ukrainian elections. They are the current Head of state Petro Poroshenko and the actor Vladimir Zelensky. They will meet in the second round of the presidential race, which is scheduled for April 21, TASS reports.

At the moment, Zelensky is leading confidently. He has already scored 30.36% of the votes. Current president Petro Poroshenko got 16.71% and Yulia Tymoshenko, who heads the Batkivshchyna party, got 13.09%.

The CEC said that voter turnout exceeded 63%. The lowest activity was recorded in Zakarpattia. People voted most actively in Kiev, Lviv and Volyn regions.

Luhansk People's Republic explained that its inhabitants did not express desire to participate in elections.

Observers of the Committee of Voters of Ukraine report that they have recorded a large number of so-called protest votes with damaged ballots, inappropriate inscriptions and marks on ballots. Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs has not recorded serious irregularities in the elections.

The candidate from the Opposition Platform For Life Yuriy Boyko said that his rating provides a good basis for parliamentary elections.

The State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots recommended the lower house of Parliament to adopt a statement on non-recognition of elections in Ukraine.

Note, the presidential election in Ukraine is accompanied by a violation of international norms and discrimination against the rights of certain groups of voters. In particular, official Kiev did not open polling stations in Russia, where millions of Ukrainian citizens live, and refused to accredit Russians as observers from the OSCE Bureau. Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called this decision of the Ukrainian authorities a discrimination.
