Final competition for IT-specialists in Kazan is register by Guinness Book of Records

The two-day hackathon - the final of the all-Russian Digital Breakthrough contest for IT specialists, designers and managers in the field of digital economy - was included in the Guinness Book of Records by the number of participants. The final gathered over three thousand experts. The achievement was recorded by an official representative of the Guinness book, RIA Novosti reports.

The tournament was organized by the ANO Russia - the Land of Opportunities, which previously set the goal of holding the most massive hackathon in history. More than six hundred teams from 77 regions of Russia arrived in Kazan. The capital of Tatarstan also hosted a school hackathon, which brought together about five hundred high school students from different cities and regions of the republic.

For two days, specialists worked on tasks in five areas: “Education and Science, Health Care, Public Administration, Housing and Public Utilities and Urban Environment and Transport and Logistics. The jury included more than 120 experts. The finals participants won the right to represent their region for competitions at regional competitions, which were held in the spring in forty cities of Russia. The desire to take part in the hackathon was announced by more than 66 thousand people, 37 thousand of them participated in the tests.

Russkiy Mir reported that in January and February 2020, a hackathon would be held in the Moscow Region. IT specialists will be involved in solving problems of using information technologies in teaching the Russian language.
