The Russian military drama Panfilov's 28 men (2016) has opened the August Film Screenings cycle at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Hanoi. Vietnamese viewers will see Russian films telling about the struggle of the Soviet people against the Nazis. The action is timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, Nyanzan Online reports.
Film screenings of contemporary Russian cinema have become traditional for the Russian center in Hanoi, films are screened in Russian with Vietnamese subtitles. The opening of the August Film Screenings was preceded by an address by the head of the center, who stressed the importance of preserving the memory of those who fell on the battlefield and efforts to save peace. Films will continue on Thursdays until the end of the last summer month.
Panfilov's 28 men by Kim Druzhinin and Andrey Shaliopa is often included in film selections dedicated to the Great Patriotic War, in Russia and abroad. Last year, the film was shown for Victory Day on a television channel in Nicaragua as part of a series of films about the war.
