The electronic reading room of the Russian Presidential Library will soon begin work at the National Library of Korea. This and other joint projects have been implemented within the framework of a cooperation agreement between the two libraries, signed on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Moscow and Seoul, the Presidential Library website reports. The anniversary date is celebrated on Wednesday, September 30.

The reading room will give visitors to the Korean library access to literature on the history of Russia and the Russian language, for scientific activities and replenishment of their knowledge in these areas.

The first reading room of this kind was opened in South Korea three years ago as part of the Russia-Republic of Korea Dialogue Forum. In particular, the readers got the opportunity to get acquainted with the archival materials of the Presidential Library related to the history of relations between Russia and South Korea.

Representatives of the two libraries reached agreements on cooperation during a personal meeting of the heads of the institutions last year at the St. Petersburg International Cultural Forum. The parties will implement joint projects in the fields of culture, science and education.
