The Lighthouse of Genoa Russian Art Festival, organized by Russian compatriots, opened in Italian regions Liguria and Piemonte on October, 24. The main topic this year is th 75th anniversary of the victory over the fascism. The cultural highlight of the festival is to mark anniversaries of famous Russian art figures: composer Tchaikovsky, writers Chekhov and Bunin, avtoradio reports.

Every year the festival gathers Russian compatriots and Italian friends who appreciate Russian culture. It's a tradition now to hold many types of events during the festival. This time, the memory of the Hero of USSR and Italy, Soviet partisan Fedor Poletaev to be honoured.

The festival was born in 2016, and this year it celebrates 5 year anniversary. The 180th birthday of Tchaikovsky explores his connection with Northern Italy. The 160th birthday of Anton Chekhov and 150th birthday of Ivan Bunin to be celebrated with recital by Pierluigi Cominotto.

As Russkiy Mir informed earlier, the last year festival was dedicated to the anniversaries of Nikolay Gogol and Vladimir Nabokov, and Italian expedition by Alexander Suvorov.
