Best Russian Classics theatre production award is established

New theater award was established by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. It will be awarded for the best performances based on Russian classical books.

It is planned that three awards will be given each year, each is three million rubles (about $49,000.)

Repertory theaters with a permanent troupes will have chance to participate as far as they have plays for children and youth audiences.

The award can be received no more than once every three years.

Authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation and local cultural authorities can nominate applicants for the award.
