A new Orthodox church is unveiled in Sweden, reports the Russian Orthodox Church website. It was erected in the city of Vasteras, a city in central Sweden 100 kilometres west of Stockholm. It is built of wood in the traditions of Russian church architecture.

Funds from the Support of Christian Culture and Heritage Foundation, along with voluntary donations, financed the construction of a new Orthodox church in Sweden. Alongside the temple, a parish house was erected, equipped with a Sunday school, library, and refectory.

The consecration ceremony, held on November 4 to coincide with the feast of the Kazan Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary, was officiated by Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate. Russian and Belarusian diplomats attended the ceremony, where Vladyka Anthony congratulated the parish community and honored clergy members for their commendable service to the Church.
