Russian State TV- holding not to broadcast Winter Olympics without Russia’s national team

Flickr/Stefanus MingRussian state television holding VGTRK is not going to broadcast the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics due to the absence of Russia’s national team, TASS informs.

According to the head of Gazprom-media Dmitry Chernushenko, Russian TV viewers won't watch if the Russian team is banned from the Olympic games.

Let us remember, The International Olympic Committee has banned Russia from the Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Selected Russian athletes with doping-free background could still compete under a neutral Olympic flag.

Russian Olympic Committee and other Russian Sports officials have repeatedly insisted to ban only those athletes who have been tested positive on doping violations, but not the whole Russian team. This position was not taken into account.

Winter Olympic games will be held in Pyeongchang on February 2018.
