St. Petersburg wins a 'Tourism Oscar' again

Northern capital of Russia is granted with World Travel Award for the third time, TASS reports. The city is granted Leading Tourist Destinations in the World award.  

The award ceremony took place in Lisbon last weekend. Capitals of France, Great Britain, Italy, China were competing. The award was established at the end of 1990s. There are two rounds. First round goes online, the second round includes experts jury entailing touristic industry specialists and journalists Earlier, St. Petersburg was recognized as a the Best Europe's Cruise Destination and the Best Europe's Cultural and Historical Destination.
 
Let us remember, at the end of 2017 St. Petersburg received two prestigious World Travel Awards, Europe's Leading City Destination and Europe's Leading Cultural City Destination.

According to experts, by the end of 2018 the number of tourists in St. Petersburg will reach 8,5 million people.
