Russian artists will start working on a gift to the Cuban capital for its anniversary during a creative trip to Cuba, TASS reports. Havana will celebrate its 500th anniversary in the fall.

The group, led by Honored Artist of Russia Vladimir Anisimov, includes eight people. Among them are specialists in graphics, ceramics and textiles. Their trip was organized by the Bureau of Creative Expeditions with the assistance of the Russian Embassy and the Cuban Ministry of Tourism.

It will be possible to get acquainted with the results of the work both in Russia and in Cuba, exhibitions will be organized in both countries. Then the works will be included in the album dedicated to the anniversary of Havana.

The artists work in different parts of Old Havana, they focused on urban beauties, natural sights and local residents. It is planned that the Russians will create about a hundred different works of art.

Anisimov is sure that art is of great importance for strengthening ties between countries. It plays a particularly prominent role in the development of contacts between people.

Some members of the creative expedition come to Cuba not for the first time and are happy to once again plunge into the artistic atmosphere of Havana.
