A large group of Russian tourists have been evacuated from Egyptian resorts, TASS reports. Several hundred people stuck in Sharm el-Sheikh and Hurghada were taken out by two aircraft belonging to Aeroflot. They landed at Moscow's Sheremetyevo on the night of March 17.

The first flight was made by Boeing-747. The plane is able to take on board more than 500 people. The second is the Boeing-777, which can accommodate about 350 people. Flights were postponed seven times, as it was necessary to collect a package of necessary documents and permits.

Russian diplomats said that more than 20,000 people remained in Hurghada at the end of February. Now the number of tourists has decreased to 4,500 people. Tour operators fulfill their obligations to tourists, organize flights to return them home and pay for hotels for stranded Russians. In Sharm el-Sheikh, the situation is similar.
