Russian tourists who are unable to return home from Thailand due to the sanctions are getting help from local residents. About 7,000 Russians are currently staying in Thailand, RIA Novosti reports.

The Thais have opened help centers and hotlines for Russian people.

Russian airlines, for the most part, are trying to help passengers return home, work is underway to compile lists and organize export flights. It is noted that the situation at the moment is more difficult than at the time of the  pandemic, when the borders between countries were closed.

Local authorities are helping with visa issues, since the visa-free stay for Russians is limited to 30 days.
