Businessmen of Cape d'Antibes (France) claim that the tourist infrastructure, local trade and real estate rental sector suffer due to the reduction in the number of Russian tourists, RIA Novosti reports.

One of the local real estate agencies told that the cape traditionally hosts lots of Russians in the summer. The agency emphasized that Russians accounted for up to 98% of deals on renting houses.

The manager of the company said that at the moment the houses are mostly rented by Europeans, but they come for a short time and try to save money. ''This is not the clientele,'' the agency said.

The resort towns of other European countries, left without Russian tourists, are also complaining about losses. In Cyprus, the damage from Western sanctions, which led to a drop in the flow of tourists from Russia, was estimated at 600 million euros. The Russians made a significant contribution to the island's economy as tourists and investors.
