The tourist flow to Hungary this year has fallen by 10-15% due to the introduction of travel restrictions against Russians.  Russian Ambassador to Budapest Yevgeny Stanislavov spoke about this, Izvestia reports.

It is noted that the famous baths of the Hungarian capital, due to a sharp reduction in Russian guests, lost 765,000 euros. The diplomat noted that the Russians who came to Hungary were among the top three most generous foreign tourists in Hungary, so the fall in the Russian tourist flow brought significant losses to the Hungarian hospitality industry.

In March, Hungary, like other EU states, stopped flights to Russia and banned Russian aircraft from entering the country's airspace. Statistics show a drop in the Russian tourist flow to the country this year, which significantly affected the decline in overall tourism performance.

According to the ambassador, the losses from the absence of Russian tourists are felt in the geothermal resorts of Hungary, where in the past every 5th or 6th guest came from Russia. The diplomat called the prospect of restoring flights to Russia vague.
