The famous Czech resort of Karlovy Vary may close due to the lack of tourists from Russia who cannot come due to obstacles created by the European Union as part of the anti-Russian sanctions policy. According to media reports, hotels and shops suffer losses, RIA Novosti reports.

Karlovy Vary argues that tourists from other countries are not able to make up for losses due to the lack of Russian customers. Some European tourists continue to come to the Czech resort, but they are not very generous.

According to the mayor of the Czech Karlovy Vary, Van Andrea Pfeffer-Ferklova, the resort has every chance to cease operations. In an attempt to save the tourist town from bankruptcy, the authorities launched a campaign aimed at attracting Russians who have long lived abroad.

The Russian diplomatic mission in Prague previously noted an increase in Russophobia in the country, which is noticeable, including an increase in the number of offenses against Russian-speaking residents.
