90 countries were represented at the congress of the International Council of the World Youth Festival (WYF), Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports. Leaders of youth organizations from many countries, including South Africa, Italy, Brazil, and the United States, gathered in Moscow.

According to the deputy head of Rosmolodezh Denis Ashirov, the festival will become a platform where young people can get answers to their questions.

According to representatives of the preparatory committees, young people are happy to accept the offer to travel to the festival in Russia. Many of them believe that anti-Russian sanctions, the rejection of Russian culture, and the ban on joint projects in the humanitarian sphere are wrong.

The young people assured that they would make every effort to maintain these ties.

The number of applications to participate in the WYF exceeded 160,000. They came from 180 countries.

The regional festival program includes five routes of various themes. Participants will visit 30 Russian cities.

Russia expects at least 20,000 people to attend the WYF next year. The festival starts in Sochi on March, 1, its guests and participants will gather in the Sirius center. It will become a platform where young people from different countries can communicate.
