Europe has adopted another package of anti-Russian sanctions, RIA Novosti reports. Almost 150 individuals and legal entities fell under the 12th expansion of restrictions. Brussels is going to freeze access to their assets. The new sanctions list includes the Russian military, enterprises of the military and industrial complex, private military companies, other individuals and organizations that operate in the field of technology and information, as well as individuals who were involved in organizing elections in new regions.

Almost 30 companies were sanctioned. Among them are some foreign firms, they were accused of having ties to the Russian military and industrial complex. They will be subject to stricter restrictions on the export of dual-use goods and technologies.

The Russian Foreign Ministry promised that Moscow would definitely take retaliatory measures.

The Russian permanent mission to the European Union believes that by accepting more and more new restrictions, Brussels is trying to ''fulfill the sanctions plan.'' No EU country needs these sanctions, diplomats noted. They will not benefit either the economy or the population. They are needed only by the EU bureaucracy. But Brussels cannot even explain to itself the meaning of the restrictions. Until now, it has not been possible to ''tear to shreds'' the Russian economy, it has not been possible to achieve the isolation of Russia, the permanent mission explained.
